City of Miami Community Relations Board to Host Traveling Film Program in September
-Program showcases documentaries focusing on community issues-

(Miami, Florida)- The City of Miami Community Relations Board (CRB) in conjunction with collaborating partners and supporters invite the community to attend the CRB Traveling Film Program in September. Admission is free.
The goal of the program is to enlighten and inspire communities by featuring quality films that offer insight into the lives of people from diverse backgrounds. The program showcases documentaries that focus on community relations issues, both locally and internationally. Each viewing is complemented with a forum that addresses the artistic and social elements of the film. The discussion following the documentary will be moderated by a local advocate and/or historian and the producer of the documentary.
Collaborating partners of the CRB Traveling Film Program include the City of Miami Community Relations Board, WLRN Public Radio and Television for South Florida, Ai Miami International University of Art & Design, Miami Dade College, and Becoming a Man Project, Inc.
The CRB Traveling Film Festival is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
House of Freedom, Tower of Dreams traces the history of the Freedom Tower since its construction in 1924 and showcases the historical, emotional, and social significance it has acquired through the years. Guest Speakers: Mia Laurenzo, Producer of House of Freedom, Tower of Dreams and Dr. Paul S. George, Professor of History at Miami Dade College and historian to the Historical Association of Southern Florida.
